After winning the PGA Championship on Sunday at Valhalla Golf Club, Xander Schauffele will pocket $3.3 million, while the event raised this year’s first-place prize money by $1 million.
Schauffele’s birdie putt on the final hole of the tournament earned him the money he left Kentucky with nearly $1.4 million, while second-place finisher Bryson DeChambeau won $1.998 million for his six-under-par effort on Sunday.
This event alone will make each of the top three finishers millionaires, as Viktor Hovland won $1.258 million.
The PGA Championship’s $18.5 million total is the largest in the event’s history, with each player earning at least $22,100 for completing 72 holes.
Each player who finishes in the top 10 takes home more than half a million dollars.

Scottie Scheffler, who won $521,418 for finishing in a tie for eighth place, won $3.6 million for winning a green jacket.
The strange thing for Scheffler is that winning the Masters was only his third highest payout of the season. He won $4.5 million at the Players Championship and $4 million at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Collin Morikawa and Thomas Detry each earn $814,000 for finishing in a tie for fourth place.
