Xander Schauffele reveals how golf stars ROASTED Scottie Scheffler on WhatsApp over PGA Championship arrest

Xander Schauffele has revealed how some of golf’s biggest stars criticized Scottie Scheffler following his shock arrest last week.

The world No. 1 is facing several charges – including the charge of second-degree assault on a police officer – after he was arrested while trying to enter Valhalla before the second round of the PGA Championship.

Scheffler was admitted to a Kentucky prison and dressed in an orange jumpsuit for a mug shot that quickly went viral.

He shares a physical therapist with several other top players, including Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

They are all in a WhatsApp chat and Schauffele, the newly crowned PGA champion, revealed how the world number 1 was roasted by his rivals.

‘He took it like a champ and we have a group chat, with our physio, our crew. It’s me, Gary, JT, Jordan, Scottie, Pat (Cantlay) – we all share the same physio,” he shared Barstool.

“The boys were harassing Scottie a little bit…just enough. Schauffele also confirmed that the group photo has already been changed to Scheffler’s mugshot.

‘That clearly happened!.’

Scheffler rushed back from jail in time for his start time on Friday, but finished the weekend eight shots behind eventual winner Schauffele.

The world number 2 said he assumed Scheffler’s arrest was a joke when he first heard about it.

‘He handled it very well. In a Scottie Scheffler way, he’s a good guy,” Schauffele continued.

‘As soon as I saw it I thought it was a joke and then I saw it on the news and thought, “Holy smoke, this really happened!”

“It feels like he’s going to come out of this okay, it feels like things are going to fall.”

Scheffler’s arraignment in Louisville has been postponed until June.

The world number 1, who allegedly dragged a police officer to the ground after failing to stop, was due to be arraigned in a Louisville courtroom at 9am on Tuesday.

However, that performance has been moved to June 3.
