X Factor star Dami Im ‘mourning the loss’ of her old life as the pop singer ‘transitions’ into motherhood

Dami Im welcomed her son Harrison in May last year, and now the global pop star has revealed that she is “mourning the loss” of her old life.

The X Factor star, 33, shot to fame when she won the fifth season of the singing competition before representing Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

At the height of her successful career, the singer’s life was turned upside down by the birth of her son, whom she shares with husband Noah Kim. The courier mail on Friday.

“Looking back, it was a very intense change of everything in my life. It was such a tough transition mentally, emotionally and physically,” Dami told the publication.

She went on to say that she feared her singing career would collapse after Harrison’s birth, saying her audience might see her as “just a mother now.”

Ever the songwriter at heart, the Smile hitmaker has channeled all of her concerns into a new EP called In Between, due out in July.

“I realized that I had to start the new chapter of my life. Regretting the loss and also accepting the new inevitable season,” she said of the music project.

Dami’s heartfelt confession comes two weeks after she and Noah joyfully celebrated Harrison’s first birthday.

The artist posted a series of happy snaps of her little family on Instagram, hugging her bundle of joy and posing with his green birthday cake.

“This weekend was a double celebration of Harry’s first birthday and my first Mother’s Day,” she wrote in the caption.

“The year has been wild and the transition to motherhood strange and challenging.”

“Looking back, it was a very intense change of everything in my life. It was such a tough transition mentally, emotionally and physically,” Dami told the publication

She continued, “But my life has never been so full and I enjoy every day getting to know my new boyfriend, and I’m so grateful to be his mother in this life!”

Dami rounded off her lavish tribute by thanking her own mother for showing me the “loving, sacrificial” tricks of parenting.

She also expressed her gratitude to Noah “for being the most wonderful father and husband.”
