X Factor star and mother-of-two, 36, tragically dies weeks after her first wedding anniversary

X Factor star Stephanie Ternent Reid has died aged 36.

The Edinburgh mum, who once impressed Simon Cowell and Cheryl on the 2015 ITV show, died just four weeks after celebrating her first wedding anniversary.

Stephanie passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning after falling ill over the weekend – no further details are known at this time.

The mum-of-two impressed The X Factor judges when she auditioned at Wembley Arena and made it onto the Boot Camp stage.

Stephanie’s death was confirmed by her mother Julie Read, who wrote on Facebook: ‘My world came crashing down around me yesterday morning, along with a shattered heart that was broken into a million pieces and can never be repaired.

“Heartbreak doesn’t even come close to how I’ve been feeling since my beautiful precious soul of a girl so suddenly got her angel wings. I never thought I would have to write a post like this.”

“My precious girl, Mommy doesn’t know how to go on without you, but I will do my very best for your two beautiful babies and love and care for them just like you did with every bone in your body.

“You were the most loving, thoughtful person to grace this earth and I am proud to call you my daughter.

“Life for me may never be the same, but I promise your babies will know how wonderful and loving their beautiful mommy was.”

Another family member wrote: ‘I am heartbroken after losing my beautiful cousin yesterday.

“I hope you know how much people loved you, you were the life of the party.

‘Life will never be the same without you, but we will all do our best for your beautiful children. I love you always. I am heartbroken after losing my beautiful cousin yesterday.”

Stephanie was a regular on the Edinburgh music scene and often broadcast her shows on social media. She was also a matchday receptionist at Hibernian Football Club.

A spokesperson for Hibernian FC said: “Everyone at Hibernian FC is deeply saddened by the passing of Stephanie Reid.

‘Stephanie was a valued member of the Hibernian FC matchday team and was always cheerful, friendly and helpful.

“She will be greatly missed and the thoughts of everyone at the football club are with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”

Stephanie is survived by her husband Ryan and their two children.
