At a downtown McDonald’s, a vicious fight broke out between staff and an irate customer, with both parties hurling food and drink at each other.

Footage from the incident, which is believed to have taken place last week at McDonald’s Wynyard Station in Sydney’s inner city, shows an employee throwing a drink in a customer’s face.

It’s not clear what prompted the fight, but it appeared to have been going on before the video started.

The young man, wearing gray shorts, a pink hoodie and a cap, stands at the counter before a member of staff blinds him with the drink thrown in his face.

He recoils in surprise and slips back on the spilled drink before returning to the counter and begins launching items at the staff, appearing to break one of their vending machines.

Screams and laughter can be heard from other customers as the man then yells “P***y” at the workers.

An employee then launches a well-aimed drink right in his face, and the customer retaliates by spraying the huddled staff with chips and drinks waiting behind the counter.

He then backs out of the fast food restaurant and turns to smile at the camera.

Daily Mail Australia has approached McDonald’s for comment.

The video, originally shared by the Brown Cardigan Instagram page, attracted hundreds of comments, many condemning the customer’s actions.

“Shame on this man!” one wrote.

“Let’s not forget that most of the people who work at Maccas are teenagers or people on student visas.”

Others saw the funny side.

“That first drink in the face and then sliding in was DESTROYING,” one user wrote,

‘There was no recovery. Winner: Employee.’

Another quipped, “No Happy Meal.”
