Bayer Leverkusen has been awarded a unique title by WWE following their remarkable Bundesliga season.
Xabi Alonso’s side were crowned champions and went the entire league match without losing.
Their achievement has now been recognized by WWE, with the words ‘Undisputed Champion’ emblazoned on the belt.
WWE legend Triple H praised Leverkusen for their season as he wrote on
“Time to celebrate like the champions you are… good luck tomorrow in the German Cup final, and we’ll see you in August for #WWEBash in Berlin.”

Xabi Alonso guided Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title and remained undefeated
The title presentation will take place ahead of WWE’s arrival in Germany for SmackDown on August 30 and Bash In Berlin on August 31. The latter is the very first WWE Premium Live Event to ever take place in Germany.
In the league, Leverkusen won 28 and drew six of 34 matches, while collecting a total of 90 points. They finished 17 points ahead of Stuttgart, who came second.
There was frustration for Leverkusen this week as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League final, with Ademola Lookman scoring a hat-trick. That result ended Leverkusen’s unbeaten run of 51 matches in all competitions.
However, Leverkusen still have the chance to secure a domestic double when they take on Kaiserslautern in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday evening.
Alonso’s team will try to bounce back from their Europa League defeat on Saturday
Alonso stressed he was proud of his Leverkusen players despite admitting their defeat to Atalanta was painful.
He told BBC Sports: ‘For me, today’s result doesn’t change how I feel about my players or what we did.
“It hurts because we wanted to lift the trophy, but you can’t have everything. We won the Bundesliga and on Saturday we have the chance to win the DFB Pokal.’
