WWE fans hijack Monday Night Raw with anti-The Rock chants amid fury over his anticipated WrestleMania match vs Roman Reigns: ‘Rocky sucks!’

WWE fans continue to voice their anger over the apparent decision to book The Rock vs Roman Reigns for WrestleMania after the Monday Night Raw crowd temporarily hijacked part of the show with “Rocky Sucks” chants.

The Rock recently returned to WWE and now appears set to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, a move that has been met with extreme backlash from fans.

Wrestling fanatics have blasted the booking decision to have the WWE legend face Reigns after spending two years building up Cody Rhodes who finally ‘finished his story’ by defeating Reigns for the title.

They have also expressed their displeasure personally by calling out The Rock during live shows.

During a Raw segment featuring Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, fans at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri once again found the perfect time to make their opinions heard.

Fans hijacked a segment during Monday Night Raw by loudly chanting “Rocky Sucks.”

As the segment started, fans started belting out the chants so loudly that the performers couldn’t get their words through the microphones.

Commentator Michael Cole even asked “is it 1996 again,” in reference to the early days of The Rock’s WWE career, when he was initially hated by fans before becoming one of the most beloved wrestlers in history.

Anger over the WWE’s decision has even led to The Rock’s daughter, WWE superstar Ava, receiving death threats over the outrage over the potential Rock vs. Reigns match.

Ava is currently cast in the role of General Manager for WWE’s developmental brand NXT.

“Can you just leave me out of this, ffs, I’m busy running a SHOW,” Ava posted on X before writing a follow-up post.

“Death threats over a situation I have nothing to do with… bffr.”

It has also been mentioned that fan reaction could play into WWE’s hands if the company’s long-term plan was to put on a triple threat match between The Rock, Rhodes and Reigns.

That type of match, combined with fan reaction, would give Rhodes a similar boost to the one that elevated ALL Elite Wrestling star Bryan Danielson (formerly Daniel Bryan) to one of the biggest stars in the industry.

Rhodes has also received public support from WWE Champion Logan Paul and fellow superstar Ricochet, both of whom joined in on the “WeWantCody” hashtag that trended on X for days.

The video of The Rock coming face-to-face with Reigns has also become the most disliked video ever posted by WWE on YouTube.
