WWE drops Taylor Swift reference as broadcast calls Jason Kelce ‘what’s her brother-in-law’s name’ during Eagles legend’s surprise appearance at WrestleMania
Two worlds collided on Saturday night when Taylor Swift earned a mention on the WrestleMania 40 broadcast.
Jason Kelce, the older brother of the pop star’s friend Travis, made a surprise appearance at the WWE event as he helped Rey Mysterio and Andrade to a victory.
And of course, Swift was referenced — just as they had been on NFL broadcasts all season — despite the 14-time Grammy Award winner not being at Lincoln Financial Field.
As Kelce jumped onto the ropes after his big entrance, Peacock commentator Michael Cole asked, “Isn’t that her brother-in-law?”
Cole was obviously referring to the singer, but incorrectly assumed she was married to Kelce’s Chiefs star brother Travis.

Swift is dating Kelce’s younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce
As he began apologetically excusing his lack of knowledge of the NFL and pop culture by claiming he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, his co-host Pat McAfee began singing “22” — a hit from Swift’s fourth album, “Red ‘.
Swift and Travis Kelce have been dating since the summer with the Anti-Hero hitmaker attending 13 of his NFL games last season, including the Super Bowl.
Travis has been enjoying some down time with Swift at her $25 million Los Angeles mansion following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win and the end of the most recent leg of her international Eras Tour.
The singer met Jason and his wife Kylie during the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in January and she and Travis reportedly flew to Philadelphia to spend Easter weekend with Jason, Kylie and their three daughters.
Kelce, an Eagles legend who announced his retirement from the NFL last month, donned an Eagles mask alongside former teammate Lane Johnson when the pair ambushed Dom Mysterio and stopped him from using a chair against his father, Rey .
From there, Rey landed a double 619 on Dom and his partner Santos Escobar before the frog splash on Escobar to secure the win.
Kelce and Johnson then celebrated the win in the ring with Rey and Andrade before taking off their Eagles masks.

The Philly couple then stood on the ropes and basked in the hometown crowd’s welcome.
The New Heights X account, the podcast Kelce co-hosts with his brother Travis, reshared a clip from the sequence originally posted by WWE.
“NAME A BETTER TAG TEAM, I’LL WAIT,” the account captioned the video.
Afterwards, Jason was pictured backstage with wrestling great The Rock.
Saturday marked only the second time Wrestlemania has been held in Philly, with the last time being in 1999 at the First Union Center (now known as the Wells Fargo Center).
This time it was held at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles, where Kelce played for thirteen seasons.
