Ryan Reynolds has been praised by the wife of Wrexham player Anthony Forde for helping end her brain tumor 'nightmare' after emotionally intervening in the medical situation.
It was recently revealed that the Hollywood star and Wrexham owner has made an incredible gesture by helping to fund a second opinion from a top neurosurgeon on Laura Forde's condition.
Ireland full-back Forde saw his life turned upside down when Laura was diagnosed with a brain tumor midway through last season which was believed at the time to be terminal.
Reynolds extended a generous hand to the couple when Laura received the devastating news that she had a brain tumor just weeks after the birth of their first child.
Forde's wife Laura noticed a problem when her newborn was just three days old that her left arm was causing pain. In her own words, which she shared on her Instagram page, her coordination was “not good.”

An MRI scan found a 'mass' and she was initially told it was incurable and inoperable and that she was expected to have a short life expectancy.
After Reynolds' intervention, the couple received a second opinion from a top New York neurologist and Laura underwent a biopsy, which revealed that it was a Thalamic pilocytic astrocytoma grade 1 – a benign brain tumor, much less fatal than the first verdict.
Due to the location of the tumor, it cannot be operated on, but the couple saw this as the 'best case scenario'.
Now Laura has explained it The Sunday times how her 'living nightmare' took control of her life in the immediate vicinity of the birth.
“The neurologist told us it was inoperable and you have a timeline,” she said. 'We then said we didn't want to know for how long. Paddy was four weeks old and I'm actually being told I might not see my son live to be a year old.'
“Not a word of a lie, I was planning my funeral while I was doing those night feedings. I cried silently. It was a very low time. A living nightmare.
'It was a very low time. In the first few months after giving birth, a woman is very hormonally confused, let alone this affects me. Emotionally it was just a rollercoaster.”
'I was initially shocked and in disbelief. I was in such a vulnerable situation that I felt like I should be happier about this, but I had just gone through the worst seven weeks imaginable with my newborn baby.”
In September, Laura posted again to her Instagram Story explaining that the tumor had not grown and that she was “relieved.”

Forde couldn't believe Reynolds helped them get a second opinion after her MRI scan
The episode ends on a positive note as they got the 'best case scenario' second opinion and Forde returned to the Wrexham team and scored in their crucial match against Yeovil.
However, she did reveal that a screw was left in her head after the surgery.
She wrote on Instagram: 'I wanted my wound checked because I felt like something was wrong. I was convinced I could feel something.
'To my horror I was told that a screw had been left behind during the biopsy. Wtf?! How?!
'I now have the choice to either have it removed (another operation) or leave it there?'
