A £22.5 mansion on one of Britain’s most expensive streets has been left to rot and now stands empty, ready for someone to tear it down and start over.
The property sits on nearly an acre of land at the end of Compton Avenue, a tree-lined private road lined with half a dozen luxury homes.
The six bedroom property is at the end of the road, overlooking Highgate golf club, with a gated driveway that is overgrown with weeds.
The green also permeates the front of the white house and over the windows.
This six bedroom property is located on one of Britain’s most expensive streets, Compton Avenue
Compton Avenue is often listed in the top 10 most expensive streets in Britain, with the average house price exceeding £10 million.
The prestigious road is in Highgate, where the average price of a home sold in the last 12 months is £1,420,751, compared to just £316,683 for the country as a whole, according to property website Zoopla.
The property is empty and left to rot, meaning it is now ‘currently uninhabitable’
The property is on the market with an asking price of £22.5m and is being sold by Bargets estate agents
At the Compton Avenue entrance there is a gate with 24 hour security to help protect the private road.
The property is being sold with full planning permission for a six bedroom detached house of over 18,000 square feet, with a separate pavilion or alternative accommodation.
The plans also include a basement level with underground parking and leisure facilities including a cinema, gym and swimming pool.
There are no images of the interior of the existing building because it is said to be in such poor condition.
The property is being sold by Bargets estate agentswho described the existing six-bedroom property as in ‘extremely poor condition’ and ‘currently uninhabitable’.

Compton Avenue is close to Kenwood and Hampstead Heath and there are several schools nearby including Annemount School and Highgate Primary School.
The property also has good access to public transport, with Highgate and East Finchley London Underground Stations less than a mile away.
Daniel Copley, of Zoopla, said: ‘This remote property could be the perfect project for a buyer with deep pockets.
‘While the site is in need of a major revamp, it will receive full planning permission for a new six-bedroom house and is a stone’s throw from scenic Hampstead Heath with its many shops, bars and restaurants.’
