Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard signs with the Jets on a four-year, $44 million deal, completing one of four goals on Aaron Rodgers’ wish list.
The New York Jets signed free agent wide receiver Allen Lazard to a four-year, $44 million deal, completing the acquisition of one of the four targets on Aaron Rodgers’ wish list to come to the Big Apple.
Lazard, 27, will earn $22 million in guaranteed money as part of his new deal structure. The former Packers and Jaguars receiver came off his best season in Green Bay with 60 receptions for 788 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns.

Lazard was one of three wide receivers Rodgers wanted in New York, along with the Packers’ Randall Cobb and free agent Odell Beckham Jr., who hasn’t appeared in the league since Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.
‘(Lazard) is a close friend of Aaron Rodgers and has been in contact with Rodgers recently. Like everyone else, Allen Lazard is waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers does,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said Monday.

‘He has to make the decision for his future and a long-term deal, potentially. He’d love to continue playing Rodgers, potentially, if he lines up.
Another NFL team was also vying to sign Lazard, who had 169 receptions in five seasons during his time with the Packers.
Regardless of whether Rodgers moves to New York, Lazard makes sense for the Jets, as the team’s front office is expected to release wide receiver Corey Davis before the start of free agency tomorrow.
