Would YOU wear this? Models wear VERY strange spikey hats on catwalk at Milan Fashion Week

There has been a stir among models wearing strange pointed hats on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week.

They were spotted today wearing these bizarre headpieces at the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2025 Womenswear collection show.

The brightly colored headpieces appeared to cover the models’ eyes, with some even falling well past their shoulders.

They created advertising material for the Milanese brand Bottega Veneta, known for its “signature minimalist elegance and quiet luxury.”

The show was directed by Matthieu Blazy and was attended by stars including Kendall Jenner and controversial Olympic boxer Imane Khelif.

In 2001, Bottega Veneta became part of the French Kering group, which also owns brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Creed and Alexander McQueen.

But the brand’s distinctive approach to fashion is paying off: sales rose three percent in the first half of 2024, while Gucci’s fell 20 percent.

Founded in 1966 in Vicenza in the northeastern Italian region of Veneto, Bottega Veneta is known for its woven leather goods and craftsmanship.

It is conspicuously absent from social networks and thrives on discreet hyper-exclusivity. In 2021, it deleted its Instagram account to the chagrin of millions of followers.

The label is masterfully led by Artistic Director Mr. Blazy, who took over as Creative Director at the end of 2021.

He is a French-Belgian man living in Antwerp and Milan. He started his career in fashion as a men’s designer for Raf Simons, after which he worked at Maison Martin Margiela.

He then went on to work at Celine and Calvin Klein, before being appointed head of the ready-to-wear department at Bottega Veneta.

With expensive-looking materials and cult pieces such as denim-style calf leather trousers that retail for 5,200 euros, the brand has built up quite a cult status in recent years.

In addition, there are a noticeable lack of logos on the products and the brand opts for a sleeker design.

The bizarre headgear trend was also seen earlier this week during a Prada fashion show in Milan.

The models wore a striking assortment of unusual sunglasses and bizarre headpieces from the spring/summer 2025 collection.

But as bizarre as some of the new looks were, believe it or not, chances are you’ll still be wearing them next year – or a toned-down version of them.
