‘World’s sexiest athlete’ Alica Schmidt gives insights into her life in Olympic Village – as the glamorous runner takes fans on a virtual tour via social media

Alica Schmidt, named ‘world’s sexiest athlete’, has taken her fans on a virtual tour of the Olympic Village.

The German star runner shared a fun compilation on her Instagram page of the activities that athletes can undertake after participating in the Olympic Games in Paris.

Some of the highlights on the list included receiving a personalised postage stamp from official Games partner La Poste and enjoying complimentary baguettes, croissants and soft drinks in the Village.

Schmidt, however, remembers keeping her physical condition at its highest level – possibly as an early preparation for the next Olympics – by cycling around the village and attending meditation sessions.

The 25-year-old seemed especially happy with the coffee with her personal print on it.

Schmidt posted a heartfelt message on Instagram after the Paris Olympics, describing the past few weeks as ‘an emotional rollercoaster’

However, Schmidt and her team’s performance could have been better during the tournament: Team Germany finished tenth overall and was brutally eliminated in the mixed 4×400 meter relay.

Jamaica was the leader, followed by the Netherlands, Ireland and Canada after an exciting battle.

Schmidt was chosen over her teammate Luna Bulmahn, who was expected to start in the women’s 4×400 metres at the Stade de France.

Tensions rose following Team Germany’s disappointing performance and Bulmahn vented her frustration, saying: ‘Yes, I am the second fastest 400m athlete on paper. No, I was not nominated for the mixed relay.’

After the Olympics, the 25-year-old runner posted an emotional message on Instagram, describing the past three weeks as “an emotional rollercoaster.”

“As an athlete, I am still not where I want to be and maybe I never will be,” Schmidt wrote, expressing her ambitions for future tournaments: “And to the athletes who didn’t make it to Paris this year: always believe in yourself.

“It’s a bumpy road, but one day all your hard work will finally pay off!”

Still, it could have been a successful Olympics for Schmidt, who attracted a lot of attention during the tournament and currently has more than 5.7 million followers on Instagram.

In 2017, she was named the world’s sexiest athlete by Australian magazine ‘Busted Coverage’

Her viral Village Tour video on Instagram has already generated over 100,000 interactions.

In 2017, she was named ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ by Australian magazine Busted Coverage, and Paris 2024 was not her first Olympic Games.

Schmidt was selected for the 4x400m relay as a substitute for Team Germany at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, she did not participate, as her team finished fourth and narrowly missed out on bronze.
