The ‘world’s hottest grandma’ has claimed she secretly dated cricket star Shane Warne before he tragically died in Thailand.

Australian OnlyFans star Gina Stewart, 51, said she was ready to reveal the truth about her relationship with the spin king on Tuesday, after spending months secretly heartbroken over his shock death on March 4 of a heart attack at age 52.

‘I have been devastated over the last few months,’ Ms Stewart told Daily Star.

‘The world lost a legend and I lost a friend and confidante. The unthinkable happened.

‘I was dating Shane but it wasn’t well-known. He wanted to keep it personal.’

Ms Stewart revealed the message she sent to Warne after they met for the first time in November, 2018, after he played a cricket match on the Gold Coast.

The message read: ‘I hope you are sleeping right now I just wanted to say thank you so much I really enjoyed your company. I’m so glad I met you.’

She said the pair had been chatting online for months before they finally spent the ‘whole night talking’ after meeting in person.

Ms Stewart had promised Warne she would keep their relationship a secret, even moving addresses when paparazzi reportedly began showing up at her home.

A state funeral for Shane Warne was held at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds on March 30 following his death on March 4

She claimed the couple would use hats and sunglasses to hide their faces from the public.

However, Stewart now feels it’s the right time to speak out about their whirlwind romance because she wants ‘people to know he was a truly caring humanitarian’.

Shane Warne’s turbulent love life: Cricket legend who has died aged 52 had failed engagement to Elizabeth Hurley, 10-year marriage, ‘kinky sex romps’, cheating scandals – and plenty of social media flirting with celebs

By Jessica Green for Mailonline

Shane Warne endured a difficult love life – including a 10-year marriage which was surrounded by cheating scandals, a failed engagement to Elizabeth Hurley, and unsuccessful flirtations on social media with celebrities.

The Australian cricketer turned pundit, one of the finest bowlers of all time who revived the art of leg-spin, has died aged 52 following a suspected heart attack.

Warne – a larger-than-life character whose 708 Test wickets has only been surpassed by contemporary rival and fellow spinner Muttiah Muralitharan – could not be revived after being found unresponsive in his Thailand villa on Friday.

The cricket legend – who retired in 2013 but continued to be involved in the game as a broadcaster – had an equally colourful life off the pitch.

Having had his fair share of high-profile romances – most notably a failed engagement to Elizabeth Hurley, his chequered love life also included a 10-year marriage to former model Simone Callahan, whom he divorced in 2005.

He also faced multiple sexting scandals dating back to 2000, was spotted trying to flirt across social media with glamour models and celebs such as Kate Beckinsale, and at 51 was still found to be on Tinder.

Despite the controversies, the Spin King remained a world-renowned and well loved member of the cricketing community, most recently coaching London Spirit in The Hundred and commentating on the Ashes.

Here, FEMAIL takes a look back at the cricketer’s colourful love life…

10-YEAR MARRIAGE

For ten years he was married to his childhood sweetheart Simone Callahan (pictured together in 2007), having three children together: Jackson, Summer and Brooke

The couple (pictured on their wedding day) split after a decade, and in a heartbreaking documentary, he confronted being caught cheating on his then wife Simone with multiple women, which led to their marriage breaking down in 2005

During his career he gained a reputation as the blonde-haired, blue-eyed hero of the sport, buccaneering bowler on the pitch and a playboy off it, famed for his love of beer and cigarettes.

For ten years he was married to his childhood sweetheart Simone, having three children together: Jackson, Summer and Brooke.

The couple split after a decade, and in a heartbreaking documentary, he confronted being caught cheating on Simone with multiple women, which led to their marriage breaking down in 2005.

The Amazon Prime programme, which came out this year, saw him admit to drowning his sorrows alone in his hotel room, drinking until he was ‘crying on the floor’ after his family fled England in the wake of the scandals.

Ms Callahan also spoke about her own heartbreak after landing in the UK to find stories of her husband’s numerous infidelities splashed across newspaper front pages.

She told the show she and the couple’s three children ‘were going to set up a life in England’ and had uprooted their lives in Australia to do so.

Warne revealed that ‘unfortunately there was a story that broke of me with two women just before they landed… Simone read that story.’

Callahan described the litany of newspaper articles about her husband’s affairs as: ‘Shane’s with this [woman], Shane’s with this [woman], Shane’s with that [woman].’

‘My life was pretty much turned on its head,’ the former model-turned-yoga instructor said. ‘It wasn’t even a two-week turnaround before I came back to Australia.’

The spin bowler ultimately owned up to his mistakes, confessing in an interview at the time: ‘I gave into temptation, gave into opportunity.’

The pair, who share children Brooke, Jackson and Summer, briefly reconciled after their divorce, but split for good in 2007.

ENGAGEMENT TO ELIZABETH HURLEY

Warne and Elizabeth Hurley (pictured in 2013) first got together in late 2010, before Warne popped the question to the Austin Powers actress in September 2011, but they sadly split in 2013

Elizabeth (pictured with Warne) previously dated fellow actor Hugh Grant for eight years, and despite splitting in 2000 the exes remained close. Warne touched on the jealousy he experienced due to how close Liz and Hugh were

Warne and Elizabeth Hurley first got together in late 2010, before Warne popped the question to the Austin Powers actress in September 2011, but they sadly split in 2013.

He said of the romance in 2018: ‘Who knows what the future holds. There’s a difference between in love with someone and loving someone. I’ll always love Elizabeth but I don’t think we’ll ever get back together.’

Warne’s words came after he branded his romance with Elizabeth as being the ‘happiest time of his life.’

He told the Mirror: ‘I was more in love with Elizabeth than I’d realised I could be. I miss the love we had. My years with Elizabeth were the happiest of my life.’

The cricketer reflected back on his romance with Elizabeth, saying: ‘When we were together we both had a great time. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.

‘It wasn’t something that she or I did wrong, it just fizzled out. We’re still great friends, we still stay in touch, we’re good for each other and our kids get along great.’

Elizabeth previously dated fellow actor Hugh Grant for eight years, and despite splitting in 2000 the exes remained close.

Warne touched on the jealousy he experienced due to how close Liz and Hugh were.

The Spin King found it especially hard given the, at times, long-distance nature of Shane and Liz’s relationship and explained that became a factor in their break-up.

‘The long periods apart were too difficult. The more you’re apart, the more you ask questions. I got jumpy about the time Elizabeth spent with Hugh Grant, for example,’ he admitted.

In a 2020 Foxtel docu-series A Week With Warnie, the cricketer revealed how the ‘circus’ surrounding their PDA-filled romance relationship ‘got scary’.

The sportsman recalled seven cars and a helicopter following their every move, when Elizabeth visited him in Melbourne in 2011, after six months of dating.

‘We tried to keep things as normal as possible but it got scary,’ Shane began.

‘Some of these rogue photographers trying to get exclusives – I remember my youngest daughter Summer screaming in the back seat, “Dad, dad slow down”. Cars jumping in front of us, running red lights.’

The cricketer recalled attempting to enjoy a quiet meal with Elizabeth, at the Capitol Golf Club in Melbourne, only to be followed by seven cars and a helicopter.

‘We couldn’t go anywhere else because we’d just get 30-40 people, photographers, news crews, everywhere we went.

‘We had seven cars following us and a helicopter over our head just following us, running red lights, cutting off in front of us,’ he continued.

Shane also revealed that fans left golf clubs outside his front door, hoping that the British bombshell would sign them.

THREE-MONTH RELATIONSHIP WITH MODEL EMILY SCOTT

Shane’s last official and public relationship was reportedly with DJ and model Emily Scott, which ended in September 2014 after just three months of dating.

Although the pair were first pictured together in May it wasn’t until June that the couple confirmed their romance.

While the relationship was relatively brief there was still the opportunity for scandal after Shane was pictured in London with Sophie Monk in July.

Months after being snapped together Sophie appeared to confirm that the couple had kissed, while Shane strongly denied the allegations.

Seemingly in a response to Shane’s denial Sophie tweeted: ‘I don’t lie’.

In 2017, the cricketer took to Twitter to clear up swirling rumours of his colourful love-life, writing: ‘I’ve been single for 3 years & not dated anyone or been on 1 date in that time.’

‘I’m lucky to have 3 awesome children who look after me + great family & friends too. I’m also very grateful to Sky, Star & Ch 9 for the opportunity to work on something I love – Cricket ! Thankyou…. [sic],’ he added.

It’s unclear what exactly inspired Warne to defend his dating history.

Then in 2018, Warne said he felt ‘lonely’ as he approached his 50th birthday as a single man. The Spin King made the revelation while speaking on ABC’s 7.30, before revealing that he hasn’t given up hope of finding lasting love.

‘There is nothing better than a great relationship, that’s what we all want,’ he said wistfully, adding: ‘Ideally I would love to be in a relationship that makes me happy.’

Despite a number of high-profile flings, Shane told the current affairs program that he has only had two ‘serious relationships’ in his life – with his wife and Elizabeth.

The star has been single for much of the time since his break up with the British actress, and told 7.30: ‘It is lonely at times. Travelling the world commentating and doing sponsorship things and being away in hotel rooms, it is fun and it is great but it is lonely at times.’

‘Sometimes you don’t meet people or don’t allow people to get to know you because you’re scared and worried they will sell a story or do whatever,’ he said.

 SEX SCANDALS

Warne’s love of beautiful women was well-known. The former spin bowling ace is pictured with friends at a New Year’s Eve party in 2016

In 2006, Warne, then 36, was playing a county cricket game in England when he was sent a text inviting him to meet with 25-year-old Coralie Eichholtz (pictured) and her friend Emma Kearney, 25

In 2019, it was reported Warne had allegedly had a noisy four-way sex party with his lover and two escorts at his £2.7million Maida Vale home in north-west London.

One onlooker said: ‘He was having quite a party in there and didn’t seem to give a damn who heard what was going on. He left the windows wide open and you could clearly hear all the noises.’

It was the latest in a series of sex scandals for the cricketer.

In 2000, he lost the Australia vice-captaincy for sending erotic texts to a British nurse while he was a father and married to wife Simone.

After a series of high-profile romps, he tried to get back with Simone but accidentally sent her a saucy text which was meant for a different woman.

‘I’m not a criminal… yes, I’m into women, which has cost me massively, time after time,’ Warne wrote in his book No Spin.

‘To me, only a pretty sad mind goes undercover to make a few bucks out of a friend and a guy she’s never met before. Either that or Coralie was lying and she set the whole thing up. Then it’s even worse.’

FAN OF TINDER

‘He couldn’t keep his hands off me’: In 2016, it was reported that Warne enjoyed a tryst with 24-year-old Simone Toon (pictured) after meeting on a sugar daddy website

The star had also hit the headlines in recent years for his reported use of online dating apps.

Triple M Sydney radio host Lawrence Mooney, a friend of Warne, said last year: ‘His life is Tinder, beers, darts, gambling and cricket. Those five things, that’s it.’

In 2015, single mother Kim McGrath claimed to Woman’s Day that she hooked up with Warne after the pair were matched on Tinder.

Kim told the magazine that she and Warne had a wild sex romp, with Warne ‘asking her to stand in the corner in her high heels while he spanked her’ before the cricket ace encouraged her to try a few ‘porno’ style moves.

In early 2016, 24-year-old Simone Toon claimed she met Warne on the website richsugardaddies.com.

The busty model told The Sun that Warne sent pictures of his manhoood, before saying he wanted to ‘whip and spank’ her.

The newspaper reported that Simone Toon said the Spin King was ‘begging her for a kinky threesome with a ‘sl*t” just minutes after they met.

Several months later, Warne was caught by paparazzi heading to socialite Brynne Edelsten’s apartment for a ‘nightcap’. Shane accused Brynne of tipping off the photographers, with the busty blonde hitting back, showing Woman’s Day the cricket star’s texts.

‘Excited for me to devour u? X’ one of Warne’s steamy messages to Brynne read.

And last year in London, Warne was snapped smooching a blonde woman, who was revealed as twenty-something law student, Kathryn Long.

SOCIAL MEDIA FLIRTATIONS

‘You are hilarious!’ In December, Warne left a flirty comment underneath a video of Kate Beckinsale standing in the rain without an umbrella

Warne went on a ‘liking spree’ of Kate’s Instagram in recent months (pictured above)

Bowled over! In 2019, Warne commented, ‘You crushed it!’, below one of Love Island Lucie Donlan’s Instagram photos which showed her posing in black lingerie

In February 2022, Warne hit headlines after ‘liking’ and commenting on Kate Beckinsale’s Instagram posts, sparking rumours of a romance.

‘It’s no wonder Warney’s all over Kate. She’s a younger version of his ex Elizabeth Hurley,’ a source told Woman’s Day. The insider even described Warne and Kate as a potential ‘match made in heaven’.

While mother-of-one Kate didn’t appear to reciprocate the cricketer’s advances, this didn’t stop him from going on a liking spree across several weeks.

In December, Warne left a flirty comment underneath a video of Kate standing in the rain without an umbrella.  ‘You are hilarious!!!!’ Warne wrote, adding a crying-with-laughter emoji.

One fan noticed his flirty advances and replied directly to Warne’s comment: ‘Ooooh Warney going for it. His next Liz Hurley.’

‘Shane is certainly getting her attention by making sure he pops up in her Instagram notifications just in case,’ the source told Woman’s Day.

Meanwhile, he raised eyebrows by flirting with 21-year-old Love Island contestant Lucie Donlan on Instagram, who is younger than his eldest daughter in 2019.

In 2016 he was reportedly contacted by Coronation Street actor Oliver Mellor who claimed that the cricketer had sent the actor’s fiancee, Rhian Sugden, a string of messages.

The Sun claimed Warne had ‘pestered’ the busty model by asking to meet up before her boyfriend felt the need to step in. It was claimed that Warne had first contacted Rhian via Twitter.
