‘World’s best’ cleaner reveals ‘worst fridge’ she has ever seen filled with four-year-old food and infested with spiders

An extreme cleaner has revealed the ‘worst fridge’ she has ever seen – and it was filled with four-year-old food and chock full of bugs.

Auri Kananen, 30, from Finland, spent three days scrubbing the house in Miami, Florida to help a mother and her 13-year-old daughter.

She said the refrigerator was filled with food that had been festering for four years and the kitchen was infested with cockroaches and spiders.

The house belonged to a 42-year-old mother who slept on a single sofa with her daughter because the other rooms were inaccessible due to the piles of rubbish.

Auri collected 203 large bags of rubbish while cleaning five rooms in the house and documented the process for her 10 million followers.

‘The fridge was something out of this world, I’ve never seen anything so disgusting.

“Other waste in the living room, girls’ room and mother’s room included dry waste, toys, food, parcels and clothes.

“You couldn’t see the bathroom floor.”

She says she hopes to show that “cleaning can be fun” and says no mess is “impossible” to tackle.

After Auri gutted the house, she said the mother and daughter were incredibly grateful for her efforts.

Her cleaning ensured that not a speck of dust was visible and that the rooms were spotless enough that the family could hear an echo as they spoke.

She said: ‘At first it felt like they didn’t quite understand what we were doing.

“When the place started to look cleaner, they were amazed.

‘The mother thanked us so many times and finally she came to hug me.

“The girl went to her room and cheered because it was echoing there. She was so happy with that.’

Auri started cleaning professionally in 2011, at the age of 16, and no longer charges her clients.

She worked for 10 years at her family cleaning company, where she learned the trade using specialist products and techniques.

A year before she quit, in August 2020, she started creating cleaning content on Facebook, YouTube and TikTok — and followers started asking her to clean their homes.

She said she refuses to charge for her clients because some struggle with their mental health and mobility and find it difficult to clean up.

Auri earned an estimated £433,000 from her cleaning business in 2022, despite not charging her clients anything.

Her sponsors, including German brand Sini Cleaning, help increase her income and also fly her to clients abroad.
