Carlos Sainz bonded with his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc by sharing footage of him sleeping during Spain’s 7-0 defeat of Costa Rica on Wednesday.
The two Formula 1 drivers watched their country’s opening round of the World Cup while in Abu Dhabi for postseason testing.
But an exhausted Leclerc couldn’t stay awake, despite Spain putting on an impressive display in their 7-0 victory.

Sainz was unwilling to let his team-mate off the hook as he filmed him sleeping and posted it on his Instagram profile to his six million followers.
The clip shows the game on a laptop before the driver slides over to his sleeping teammate.
Sainz then turns the camera back on himself and raises his eyebrows.
Ferrari filled the top three spots on the timing screens in Formula 1’s post-season test in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, as the sport looked to the future with both grand prix veterans and newcomers taking up employment with new employers.
Carlos Sainz was fastest for Ferrari ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc, with both regular racers taking turns in the one F1-75 car and focusing on Pirelli’s 2023 tyres.
Israeli test driver Robert Shwartzman was third in the other Ferrari, completing 116 laps, the equivalent of two Grand Prix distances.
