Tragedy as two men die in separate workplace accidents just hours apart in Western Australia

Two men tragically died in separate workplace incidents just hours apart in Western Australia on Wednesday.

A 32-year-old man was crushed to death at a construction site on Carrington Street in the Perth suburb of O’Connor about 2.40pm.

It is understood there were only a handful of people on site at the time of the incident.

Unfortunately, his colleagues were unable to save him and he died on the spot.

Worksafe investigators visited the site and will continue their investigation on Thursday.

In an unrelated incident, a man in his 20s was killed at around 12.40pm while working in the Wheatbelt region of the state at a concrete production site in Dalwallinu.

It is understood his death was related to an incident involving a forklift truck carrying a heavy load.

Police officers arriving at the Huggett Drive location pronounced the man deceased and secured the scene.

Worksafe investigators traveled to the city, 250km northeast of Perth, on Thursday morning to begin their investigation into the accident.

Work fatalities in WA fell to 21 in the 22/23 financial year, compared to 29 in 21/22.
