The PRIME drink is a collaborative project between YouTube sensations Logan Paul and KSI, which has seen the drink sell out quickly in their respective home countries of England and the US.
Waiting for the drink to reach Australian shores has left Woolies staff frustrated as they are pestered daily by buyers to find out when the drink will be available.
Woolworths staff are fed up after being harassed about when they will stock the new PRIME energy drink, which was due to hit stores on Wednesday but is now ‘weeks’ away.
PRIME comes in a variety of flavors and despite being described by celebrity chef Gordan Ramsay as a “perfume to swallow”, Australians are eagerly waiting to get their hands on a bottle.
In a statement, Woolworths said the PRIME Hydration variety will be available nationwide ‘in the coming weeks’ despite originally being scheduled to launch on Wednesday, sparking widespread confusion and anger from the public and Woolies staff. .
Woolworths staff took to social media to express their displeasure at the delay.
“People ordering PRIME will be my new paralysis demon,” posted a Woolies worker.
Another fed up worker posted: “I had at least 10 eshays with dirty mullets, ask me this within 5 minutes as soon as the store opened this morning.”
The PRIME drink is a collaborative project between YouTube sensations Logan Paul and KSI, which has seen shortages of the drink in their respective countries, England and the US.
Others spoke of being harassed on the phone by mothers who were pressured by their children to buy the drink and many workers said they have been asked every day ‘if we have it’.
The drink has created a stir ever since it was announced that it would be introduced to the Australian market.
A caffeinated variety of the drink is banned from stores due to containing up to 200mg of caffeine.
The flavors that will be available in Woolworths stores are: Tropical Punch, Blue Raspberry, Popsicle and Lemon-Lime.
In a recent radio interview with athlete Kyle Sandilands and his co-host Jackie O, Paul and KSI said the drink would be available at Coles before Woolworths.
However, Coles says they’re excited to launch PRIME Hydration, but currently can’t offer it without specifying why.
PRIME claims on its website that the drink is available at Coles and Woolworths outlets.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Woolworths for comment.
