Woolloongabba fire: Fire engulfs four homes and an exclusion zone in south Brisbane

A massive fire destroyed four homes overnight, forcing local residents to flee the area and a state of emergency was declared.
Queensland fire and emergency services were called to the scene of the fire on Heaslop St, in the Woolloongabba suburb of Brisbane just before 3am on Thursday.
The fire destroyed four properties, of which only two were reportedly occupied.
There are currently no reports of injuries from the inferno.
Several fire brigades and emergency services are still on the scene.

The police have issued a declaration of emergency under the Public Safety Preservation Act because of the fire.
An exclusion zone has been established encompassing Heaslop St, Merton Rd, Catherine St and Annerley Rd.
Those in the exclusion zone have been asked to evacuate the area immediately.
The public has been advised to avoid the exclusion zone.
