Woodridge abduction: Parents chase down machete-wielding kidnappers who allegedly snatched their 10-year-old son from a skate park south of Brisbane

Extraordinary CCTV footage has captured the dramatic moment parents chased and confronted a trio of armed kidnappers accused of kidnapping their baby son at a popular skate park before being injured in a shocking altercation.

The 10-year-old boy was reportedly ‘forcibly abducted’ by a man at Adventure Park, in Woodridge, south of Brisbane, on Saturday afternoon.

The man allegedly forced the boy into the backseat of his Jeep and drove away after the child reportedly threw a rock at the vehicles moments earlier.

The boy’s shocked parents jumped into their car and followed the suspected kidnapper’s vehicle.

CCTV captured two vehicles driving into a street to block the jeep’s exit as the street descended into chaos.

Screams could be heard as the boy’s father ran to the Jeep and tried to open the door.

The 10-year-old’s mother can be heard repeatedly shouting, “That’s my son!”

Three occupants of the jeep then jumped out, probably armed with machetes.

A fight broke out between the boy’s parents and his alleged captors.

The mother was heard shouting: ‘Someone help, help. They stole my child.”

The boy’s 35-year-old father was knocked unconscious while his mother’s leg was run over. 9 News reported.

The altercation lasted less than five minutes.

The boy was removed from the backseat and reunited with his parents as the Jeep drove away.

The alleged kidnappers were arrested nearby a short time later.

Tauvela Soe, 27, of Woodridge, was charged with kidnapping and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear in court again on June 10.

Another Woodridge man, 22, and a Kingston woman, 29, were also charged with kidnap and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 16.

The boy was not injured in the incident.

The police investigation continues.

and reported by The courier post“There will be a number of allegations that police allege relate to interactions between these three individuals, a 10-year-old child and also individuals (who) were related to that 10-year-old child,” Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Chris Stream told reporters.

‘At the moment they are allegations, but it is clearly very frightening for a child to be involved in those types of (alleged) incidents – as you would understand, it is also very frightening for the parents involved when a child is abducted.’
