Wild neighbourhood battle erupts after wood is taken from the front of a property: ‘So self-entitled’

An angry couple sets out to identify a brazen thief who stole expensive blocks of wood from their estate while they were on vacation.

“Does anyone recognize this woman? She came into our front yard to get wood while we were gone,” the woman wrote on social media on Friday.

“She has been caught on camera multiple times and seen by neighbors who have her car registration. Today family came to pick up the wood and it was all taken.”

The woman took the wood from a property in Bona Vista, a rural town on the Victoria Valley Road in southwestern Victoria.

Photos on social media show her loading several large tree trunks into a trailer attached to her car.

Locals were quick to voice their opinions on her brutal act.

“You can’t just take whatever you want from other people’s property,” someone wrote.

“What’s wrong with society today? So self-absorbed. Work hard and make your own way in life instead of being a selfish thief. Makes me so angry,” said a second.

“Jesus, what a cheeky guy, there’s enough wood along the road,” a third commented.

“Wow, that’s really, really wrong,” said a fourth.

Several people pointed out that the woman’s license plates were visible in the photo.

“Just call the police? You have the registration number,” someone said.

‘Just report it to the police immediately, stealing is taking someone’s property. Probably reselling it,’ advised a second.

A man said the couple’s neighbors should have stopped the woman.

“Neighbors should have called the police when she was there. This kind of shit needs to stop. What ever happened to neighborhood watches,” he wrote.

Another said it might have been a misunderstanding.

“Maybe she really thought anyone could take it and she was doing you a favor,” they said.

“Family came by to pick it up,” the woman responded to their comment.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Victoria Police about the incident.
