AMANDA GOFF: So, doomsday feminists say they won’t let a man touch them if he supports Donald Trump. Sorry, ladies, but I’ve got some bad news about your ‘MAGA sex ban’…

If there’s anything the American elections have taught us, it’s that no one cares what celebrities think about politics. If they did, Kamala Harris would cackling into the White House with Beyonce, J.Lo and Bruce Springsteen.

But she isn’t. Instead of tThe silent majority of elected Americans Donald Trump as their 47th president, giving him almost seven million more votes than Harris. The fact that it was a landslide proves my point about Hollywood’s endorsement.

Here in Australia we don’t really have A-listers telling us who to vote for in our elections. But we do have some very vocal influencers with strong opinions about who Americans should have voted. And the loudest by far is Abbie Chatfield.

You know Abbie. She was on The Bachelor and now she’s the voice of Gen Z – think podcasts, sex toys, TV shows. She’s our version of Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy.

First of all, I like Abbie. She’s feisty, she’s young and she doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. And with almost half a million followers, she is a role model for young women who hang on her every word as she unleashes breathless rants on Instagram about social justice, human rights and dirty guys.

Which brings me to my main point…

Last week, Abbie announced that Australian women should stop having sex with men who support him because Trump is now president-elect of the United States.

Yes, it’s a MAGA bonking ban.

I like Abbie Chatfield, but telling her hundreds of thousands of followers to stop having sex with men because of their politics isn’t the answer, writes Amanda Goff (pictured)

How does that work, I hear you ask? Well, Abbie says that before a woman decides to sleep with a man, she should ask his opinion certain social issues. If he answers like a Trumper, dump him. If he claims to be indifferent, dump him too.

She reiterated the principles of ‘4B’ – a movement that started in South Korea in late 2010 and stands for four Korean words starting with ‘bi’ (or ‘no’ in English): no bihon, bichulsan, biyeonae and bisekseu. That’s ‘no childbirth’, ‘no dating’, ‘no sex’ and ‘no marriage’ with heterosexual men.

It’s basically giving two fingers to the patriarchy, with a bold message to men who don’t respect women: we don’t need you, we won’t marry you, and we won’t give you our bodies anymore.

For Abbie and others, Trump’s re-election has inspired them to take a similar stand against the millions of young men, here and in America, who supported The Don.

Let me make this abundantly clear from the start: Abbie can have sex with – or not have sex with – whoever she wants.

Last week, Abbie (pictured) announced that because Trump is now president-elect of the United States, Australian women should stop having sex with men who support him

Abbie urged women to stop giving Trump-supporting men the “benefits of a relationship.” She said she had no respect for women who continue to reward bad men [their] presence’

But don’t you think it’s a bit much to ask the average Aussie guy to prove that? is not a Donald Trump supporter? After all, he didn’t vote for the man.

Plus, a “MAGA sex ban” just wouldn’t work. Men lie all the time to get sex. Believe me, I’ve heard them all. “I don’t have a girlfriend,” “I’m not really married,” “That dress doesn’t make your butt look big,” “I’m devastated that Kamala didn’t win.”

Are you really going to tell me that you’re going to believe what a man says when he’s being questioned about social issues while he’s half naked in the bedroom?

If women actually follow Abbie’s example, it will only force men to hide their political beliefs. (Remember those views we’re all entitled to?)

In the US elections, we have already divided Generation Z by gender: young men generally voted right-wing (the so-called ‘bro vote’), while women supported Harris.

It’s an ugly political divide that doesn’t bode well for that generation. But declaring that men are unworthy of female companionship simply because of who they voted for only makes the situation worse..

This kind of division is everywhere. I was scrolling through TikTok recently and found multiple therapists encouraging young people to cut off “toxic” family members who support Trump. I mean, seriously?

It is yet another example of dissatisfied people waging war against their own social circle over the election results.

Abbie and her supporters claim that because Trump entered the United States, abortion could be made illegal in Australia and all women would lose their freedoms.

Let’s be sensible: that’s not going to happen.

Donald Trump was re-elected president last week, partly thanks to securing the ‘bro vote’

You know what I’m more worried about? Iraq’s government may lower the age of consent for girls from 18 to nine. Act 188, the “Personal Status Act,” would allow adult men to marry young girls, effectively legalizing pedophilia.

I’ve spent an awful lot of time on social media this past week. I have seen many women talking about safety, freedoms and rights. Should we start with those girls? Where’s the outrage?

Perhaps it is better to protest against Australian men who lean to the right than to stand up for nine-year-olds in Iraq.

I understand Abbie’s anger as she sees extremist thugs shouting “Your body, my choice” to heartbroken Harris supporters. Myour advice? Ignore them. Don’t give them fuel. They are trolls who feed off your anger.

It must be frustrating to see their bile amplified online, but in the real world they’re just losers living in the basement. They do not represent the majority of men.

I’m a feminist and yet I still love men – always have. I believe in love, not hate. And after everything that’s happened this past week, I want people to come together and not turn on each other.

The internet will convince you that men and women are currently at war – but I still date. And I’m certainly not giving up sex.
