A ski event aimed mainly at women will allow 'female identifying and non-binary' skiers to take to the slopes during the annual nude round after ski holiday closing time.
Boot Tan Fest returns to the slopes of Colorado this March for a weekend of skiing and special events designed to strengthen friendship among the female skiing community.
The event, which was organized for the first time in 2021 with just 27 skiers, is “the largest ski and snowboard festival in the world for women and ladies”, according to the organization. website.
Boot Tan Fest has expanded considerably since its inception. Last year, “more than 400 amazing women and femmes created the liberating atmosphere of Boot Tan Fest.”
Jenny Verrochi, the event's founder, who has been called an “event magic star,” saw Boot Tan Fest quickly grow into an event that now attracts about 500 people annually, for which skiers pay hundreds of dollars.

The weekend famously includes an after-hours nude ski run, in which all women and 'female-identifying' skiers are invited to take part
She recently said, according to the Denver Post, that they chose the location for this year's event — the Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort — because it has a “super quiet, very relaxed atmosphere.”
“This would not be possible at Aspen Mountain or Vail Resorts,” she added.
Boot Tan Fest doesn't completely take over Sunlight Mountain, so during the day everyone – male, female or neither – is invited to join in the skiing and snowboarding.
But once the resort closes at 3pm on March 29, the slopes will only be open to official Boot Tan Fest guests, who will be invited to ride the ski lifts up the mountain before stripping off for the naked run.
“It's a normal ski day with your clothes on and then it's a little after-hours,” Verrochi said, adding that disrobing is not a requirement.
The event, she said, aims to be a safe space for everyone.
The weekend will also include an area where women-owned brands can set up shop and sell their wares, as well as an après-ski tailgate that will take place on the evening of the 29th.
Those who want to take home a permanent souvenir can commemorate the epic slope day with a tattoo done by the local tattoo artist who will be stationed at the bottom of the mountain.
The retreat concludes the next morning with a guided journaling exercise with live music.
