A woman has revealed how her mother misspelling her name on her birth certificate ultimately helped her in her adult career.

Sacha Rady, 26, from Atlanta, Georgia, went viral TikTok after telling about the story behind her nickname, which is pronounced ‘Sasha’.

The real estate agent, known as @sacharealty on social media, said her mother wanted her name to be spelled Sasha — not Sacha.

“My mom misspelled my name on my birth certificate, and this is why it was actually a huge blessing when I was in corporate America,” she told viewers.

Rady said she was named after the Sasha doll created by Swiss artist Sasha Morgenthaler, calling it the “British equivalent of the American Girl doll.”

“Growing up, my mom was super poor. She could never afford a Sasha doll. So she said she was going to name her first daughter Sasha,” she explained. “These dolls were spelled SASHA, which is the feminine way of spelling Sasha.”

However, her mother accidentally spelled her name SACHA, a gender-neutral name with French and Slavic roots, according to The punch.

Rady noted that Sacha is the shortened version of the name Alexander in Russian.

“When I was in corporate America, when I emailed people, everyone thought I was a man,” she said. ‘They would answer back: ‘Dear Sir’, ‘Hello, Sir’, and I let that mess go.

“I’m a pretty dry and direct person, and if a woman is dry and direct in the business world, you’re ab***h,” she added. “But since I was a man, it was just another day at the office.”

“My teacher had a girl named ‘Angel’, but the birth certificate had ‘Angle’ spelled,” someone else recalls.

‘GIRL!!! I understand you. I should have been Yudi, but they spelled it Yuri, so now I’m a Russian man instead of a Latin woman,” said another.
