The woman who stole Ashley Biden’s diary has been paroled from prison after she was allegedly caught speeding 90 miles per hour while in possession of marijuana.
Aimee Harris, 42, was arrested Monday in McIntosh County, Georgia, on charges of driving without a license, speeding, possession of an open container, possession of marijuana and obstructing a police officer.
She was arrested just one day before her scheduled voluntary surrender to begin her month-long prison sentence for stealing a diary from President Joe Biden’s daughter in 2020.
Harris, of Palm Beach, Florida, and accomplice Robert Kurlander then sold the magazine to a conservative media outlet for $40,000.
She was taken into custody by US police following her arrest in Georgia and is currently being held in a federal prison.

Harris was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Monday after she was allegedly caught driving 90 mph in a 70 mph zone, according to the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, which was obtained by CNBC.
She was driving south on Interstate 95 near Darien, about 50 miles south of Savannah and 46 miles north of the Florida border.
Harris informed her supervisor’s pretrial services officer on Sunday that she would be taking a “one-day road trip to” South Carolina on Monday and that she planned to return that evening, prosecutors alleged in a document filed in federal court in New York.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan wrote a letter to Chief Justice Laura Taylor Swain on Tuesday saying they had been notified of Harris’ arrest and had requested that she be taken into custody by U.S. Marshals.
The file, seen by DailyMail.com, states that she “has been charged with multiple offences including driving without a licence, speeding, possession of an open container, possession of marijuana and obstructing a police officer”.
“The suspect is currently in custody in connection with these charges,” prosecutors said.
After reviewing the file, Judge Swain signed the request Wednesday morning and within hours Harris was turned over to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
The state facility where she was held is also used as a federal detention facility.
Harris and accomplice Robert Kurlander, of Jupiter, Florida (pictured), then sold Ashley Biden’s diary to conservative media outlet Project Veritas for $40,000
Harris, of Palm Beach (pictured), found the diary and other items in 2020 at a friend’s home in Delray Beach, Florida. Prosecutors said Biden believed her items were safely stored after she stayed there temporarily in the spring of 2020.
Harris was sentenced in April to a month in prison and three months of home confinement for stealing Biden’s diary four years ago and selling it to Project Veritas.
Harris pleaded guilty to conspiracy in August 2022, admitting that she received $20,000 of the $40,000 the conservative group paid for personal items belonging to the president’s daughter.
Both suspects had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to smuggle stolen property across state lines.
Harris found the diary and other items in 2020 at a friend’s home in Delray Beach, Florida. Prosecutors say Biden thought her belongings were safe after she stayed there temporarily in the spring of 2020.
“I don’t believe I’m above the law,” Harris said at her April hearing after a prosecutor sought a prison sentence for failing to appear at multiple court hearings, claiming she was too busy caring for her two children, ages 8 and 6.
“I am a survivor of long-term domestic violence and sexual trauma,” she told the judge.
During sentencing, the presiding federal judge noted that Harris and Kurlander had first tried unsuccessfully to sell Biden’s assets to then-President Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. Pictured: President Joe Biden at the NATO summit in DC on Thursday
As a lawyer for Biden watched from the spectators’ section of the courtroom, Harris apologized to the president’s daughter, saying she regretted making her childhood and life public.
In announcing the sentence, Judge Swain called Harris’s actions “despicable.”
The judge noted that Harris and a co-defendant, Kurlander, of nearby Jupiter, Florida, had first tried unsuccessfully to sell Biden’s assets to then-President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign.
According to Judge Swain, Harris not only wanted to be greedy, but also wanted to influence the country’s political landscape.
