A Las Vegas woman who weeks ago accused police of arresting her for looking too “too pretty” is now facing charges of murdering her mother.

Police began searching for Hend Bustami, 28, after her 62-year-old mother’s body was discovered early Wednesday morning at a Las Vegas home.

Bustami was detained hours later at about 5 a.m. in Barstow, California. The motive remains unclear.

She made headlines in August after she was arrested at the Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas after trying to skip a tab at a Chili’s restaurant.

Bustami was reportedly belligerent intoxicated and police said she claimed during her arrest that she was being harassed because the police [had] never seen anyone as beautiful as her.’

Bustami’s mother was discovered just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at a house on June Flower Drive, with “several deep cuts.”

Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Dave Valenta said police received a 9-11 call from a woman claiming her mother was dead.

“At about 2:30 a.m., a 911 dispatcher received a call from a frantic woman saying her mother was dead,” Valenta said. “Then the line was broken.”

Police said Bustami will be returned to Las Vegas and face charges of public murder, meaning the extent of her charges has yet to be determined.

Bustami was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport and booked on August 31 for misconduct.

LVMPD said they received a report that Bustami walked out on a tab at Chili’s restaurant at the airport, and officers later found the woman “belligerent” after stalling operations at a security checkpoint.

When the officers took her into custody, they said Bustami threatened to spit on them for calling them “perverts” and claimed they “tried to rape her because they had never seen anyone so pretty.”

She was due to appear in court today on charges related to the incident.

Bustami is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and holds a degree in Hospitality Administration and Management, according to her LinkedIn account.

She also runs under the name Afrodyte.
