Woman who had nine-year sexual relationship with an AIRPLANE says she’s finally broken up with him ‘but we’re still friends’
- Michele Köbke had a sexual relationship with a Boeing 737-800 for years
- But she has since broken up with the plane
- She admitted they are ‘still friends’
A woman who had a sexual relationship with a plane for nine years has revealed she has ended the relationship, but the two are still friends.
Warehouse worker Michele Köbke, 36, first became involved in the affair with the Boeing 737-800, which she affectionately called ‘Darling’, in 2014.
She previously said of ‘Darling’: ‘The 737-800 is very attractive and sexy to me. It’s the most beautifully built, and it’s a very attractive and elegant airplane.’
However, she admitted that she has since broken up with her partner. She told Bild that the breakup was amicable: ‘We are still friends.’
Michele was diagnosed as an objectophile years ago: ‘I’m normal. I admit, I thought I was crazy at first. But then I discovered I’m an objectophile. People are just very diverse in the way they structure their relationships.’
“It’s just like a normal relationship: we have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together,” she added.

She previously said of her relationship with the plane: ‘My cheeks hurt from laughing, I’m the happiest woman in the world – when I’m with him I have everything I need’
What Michele found particularly irresistible about the 737-800 were the winglets

What Michele found particularly irresistible about the 737-800 were the winglets.
“When I touch his wings, my palms immediately get clammy and I get excited,” she revealed, adding that she “wanted to marry my lover and live in a hangar with him – it’s just a special kind of love that doesn’t hurt anyone.”
Forensic psychiatrist and tutor Dr. Werner Platz told the newspaper that there are about 40 known people worldwide who suffer from the disorder.
“It is a so-called paraphilia, a disorder of sexual preference. But as long as it does not cause suffering or conflict, it cannot be classified as pathological or in need of treatment,” he said.
Michele previously spoke about the difficulties that come with a relationship with an airplane: ‘A relationship with an airplane is not easy and sometimes even difficult.
“I can only get close to him when I fly with him or when I can get into the hangar with him. That’s only happened to me once in my life.”
Michele isn’t the only one who has fallen in love with a Boeing 737.
Sarah Rodo from Dortmund, Germany, found love on her first flight on a Boeing 737, after an unsatisfactory attempt at dating people.
Since then, the 23-year-old has also “met” 60 statuettes and three larger models, whom she considers part of a “collective being” she is dating, which is why she often refers to her lovers as one.
