Astonishing moment woman is found being crushed by a 13ft PYTHON which bit her thigh and coiled around her torso as she washed dishes

This is the stunning moment a grandmother was found alive after being suffocated by a 13-foot python for four hours.

Arrom Arunroj, 64, was washing dishes in her outdoor kitchen in Samut Prakan, Thailand, when she suddenly felt a shooting pain in her right thigh.

She looked down and thought she had been bitten by a monitor lizard, but she saw a huge, four-metre-long python crawling up her leg.

Arrom said she panicked and tried to tear the python’s head off.

However, she fell over, causing the 20-kilogram snake to wrap itself tightly around her body.

The widow said she struggled for more than two hours before her screams were finally heard by a neighbor, who then called police.

Her arms had become pale and numb and she had wounds on her leg from where the python had bitten her.

Arrom was taken to hospital for treatment.

She said, “I work as a housekeeper in a children’s hospital in Bangkok. I rented this room with my husband for many years, but he passed away last year. Since then, I have been living alone.

‘I didn’t see the snake until it bit me. I looked down and it was coiled around my leg.

‘I was afraid the python would kill me, so I screamed at the top of my lungs until a passerby heard me. I have never been so scared in my life.

“The snake just wouldn’t let go of me. I’m sure it was waiting for me to die so it could eat me. So I prayed and did my best to stay alive.”

Police Major Anusorn Wongmalee, commander of the Crime Prevention and Control Unit at Phra Samut Chedi Police Station, said police received the report at 10pm.

He said: ‘The scene of the incident was a ground floor rental apartment with five rooms next to each other. In the fourth room where the victim lived, the door was locked.

‘The police and rescue workers could hear her faint cries from inside, so we broke the door to save her. What we saw shocked us.

The elderly woman was pinched by a huge python that must have weighed more than 20 kilos.

“We used every tool we could to pry her out. It took over 30 minutes to remove the snake. Then it was released back into the woods behind the room.

Pythons are found throughout Thailand, but it is rare for them to attack humans.

They are not venomous, but they kill their prey by stunning it with a bite, then wrap themselves around their prey and crush it.
