A woman has sparked a fierce debate over the 'normal way' of showering after realizing she and her mother were looking in opposite directions.

Alexandra “Lovey” Lee, 29, from Southern California, opened up about her confusion on TikTok, where she has more than 100,000 followers thanks to her lifestyle and wedding videos.

The influencer, who uses the handle @alittlebitloveywent viral after she shared her shock at the way her mother showered.

“My mom just told me there are two ways people shower, and we just realized we both do the opposite,” she explained.

The influencer explained that she faces away from the shower head, causing the water to hit her head and back, but her mother does the opposite

Alexandra said that when she showers, she faces away from the shower head so the water flows down her hair and back.

“Of course I'll turn around and walk around every now and then,” she noted.

But she recently learned that her mother is looking at the shower head and letting the water fall on her face and the front of her body.

The content creator explained that “this all started” because she and her husband were remodeling their shower, and she asked her mother for advice on where to place the shower bench.

“She said, 'Don't you want the shower bench behind you so you can put your leg up while you shower?'” she recalls.

Alexandra was baffled by her mother's choice until sherevelation'that they look in opposite directions while showering.

She said her mother was equally shocked by the revelation that they have completely different preferences.

'I think the normal way to shower is with the shower head behind you, looking that way. Is anyone else surprised by this?' she asked.

But if she was looking for a clear answer about the 'right' way, she didn't get one; the responses seemed almost evenly divided.
