She captioned the clip: “PSA to fellow Owala girls to take out the silicone piece.”

“Hey, this is a PSA for anyone who owns an Owala… I got sick in August… I had a mild cold, you know? Lasted a week and didn't go away after that. Went to the emergency room: bronchitis,” she said.

Kae explained that the doctors gave her an inhaler and antibiotics, and after three weeks she finally felt better.

However, three weeks later she became ill again. This time with a sinus infection.

She was given more antibiotics from the emergency room.

“I had maybe a week and a half where I was healthy, feeling great and not having any illnesses. And then I get sick again,” she explained.

Then Kae developed a sore throat and eventually discovered the reason behind her illnesses.

She explained, “While I'm taking antibiotics for the sore throat, I decide, 'Hey, I'm going to clean my water bottle.' This is where things go downhill. I clean it and do all the normal things.

“First of all, I know I don't clean it as often as I should. Nobody does. I know it's full of bacteria.'

After searching the Internet for instructions on how to clean her water bottle, she realized there was a piece of silicone that she forgot to scrub.

She said: 'Everyone is saying, 'delete it.' Covered with mold. Covered with mold.

'It has even embedded itself in the silicone. Of course, I immediately order replacements on Amazon. So I didn't know it was coming out, so of course I'm shocked. Once I cleaned it, things got better. Haven't been sick since.

'I had mold poisoning from my water bottle. So this is a PSA for anyone who owns one of these things.”

People flooded the comments section expressing their shock, while others shared their own experiences.
