A woman who wasn’t sure whether she wanted to try again with her ex now says there’s just three questions you must ask yourself to determine whether your partner is the one for you.

Courtney Empey, 27, from Toronto, was in a predicament when her ex was trying to get back with her. She just wasn’t sure if she wanted to give their relationship another go.

And then she was given some ‘invaluable’ advice by her nurse who told her to ask three key questions to help her make her decision, which were…

Courtney Empey, 27, from Toronto, has revealed the three questions to ask yourself to determine if your partner is right for you

‘Would you be happy if this person was your child?’

‘If this person was dating your child, how would you feel?’

‘If this person was to be the father of your children, how would you feel?’

After evaluating her answers, she decided to give their relationship another try and now, she wants to share the method with the world, and provide these words of wisdom with others who are in the same predicament.

Courtney, a social media manager, said: ‘I told my nurse that my ex had come back to me, and I didn’t know what to do and she said I had to ask myself these questions.

‘She told me to think: ‘If this person was your child, would you be happy?’

‘Also: ‘If this person was dating your child, how you would feel?’

‘And the last one was: ‘If this person was going to be the father of your children, how would you feel?’

The three questions to ask yourself that will show if your partner is ‘the one’

If this person was your child, would you be happy?

If this person was dating your child, how you would feel?

If this person was going to be the father of your children, how would you feel?

‘It took the emotion away from the decision and made me actually look at whether the person fits my standards.

‘You then have to be honest with yourself and come back to your feelings and work out if you really love this person and if they support you and make you a better version of yourself.’

Courtney quickly realised her standards and the qualities she wanted in a life partner after asking herself these questions.

‘I worked out I wanted someone polite and courageous, as I’d want that for my child,’ she said. ‘So I decided that I did want to give things a go with my ex, but we are taking it slow.

‘Lots of people have tried this and since realised they don’t want to be with that person.

‘I think it’s important that once you’ve worked out if they meet your standards, then you bring your feelings back into it. Because they could perfectly meet your standards but if you don’t love them then he’s not the right guy for you.’

Courtney has helped lots of her social media followers figure out if their partner is the one for them through using these three questions.

‘People have come back to me and told me that it’s helped them either break up with someone or work out that he’s in fact Mr Right,’ she said.

‘I think this is a great way to properly evaluate if you want to be with that person or not.’
