Woman reveals her boyfriend dumped her when he found out she’d had plastic surgery

A woman has revealed that her boyfriend broke up with her after finding out she had plastic surgery long before the two met, insisting that “no real man” wants to be with someone who isn’t “natural”.

The woman took to Reddit to discuss her boyfriend’s incredibly negative reaction to her plastic surgery, while asking if she was an idiot for not revealing to her partner that she’d previously gone under the knife.

She began by explaining that when she was 22 she had a nose job because she had broken her nose several times as a child, adding that she also underwent breast augmentation, sharing that it was an “insecurity” of hers.

“When I was 22 years old, I had a nose job because I broke my nose twice as a child and it left me with a big bump.

‘Then, at 23, I had breast augmentation that brought me up two cup sizes. These were lifelong insecurities that I was bullied about, and it was really a relief to end them,” he explained.

Detailing moments when he realized he had ‘dodged a bullet’, he said: ‘In the present, I met Max through a friend and things have been great. Last night, I was scrolling through my social media while on the couch with him.

“I stopped at an old vacation photo of classmates, where she was wearing a bikini and frankly had very obvious implants (she looks great, happy for her! But it shows).

Max looked at that moment and said, “Disgusting.” I asked him what the deal was, and he said that women getting implants or other surgeries are a huge turn-off for most men, and that men prefer natural over two balloons and how insecure it looks.

“I couldn’t help but laugh and said, ‘So I put you down?’

“He got very confused and asked what I meant, I told him that I had done procedures before.

‘He kept denying it and saying he was joking until I showed him old photos of me.

She later updated her post to reveal that her boyfriend changed his mind and asked to meet up; however, he realized that he wasn’t the one for her and ended things once and for all.

He fell silent and left shortly after. I got a text saying he should have revealed this on the first date, how I induced him and that he needs to reconsider things.

Reddit users were quick to come to his defense and criticize the man for his ‘shallow’ mentality, while others called his behavior a ‘red flag’.

Other users advised the woman to drop it, adding that she ‘dodged a bullet’, saying she was ‘lucky’.

“You were lucky he showed you this side at four months. You could have been married before you found out he’s so shallow/misogynistic,” one user wrote.

One user said: ‘Your disclosure expectations on a first date are ridiculous. You have a right to privacy and he can’t judge you for your choices until he knows you better.

Another added: “You don’t have to reveal anything about medical stuff (even when you did it just for aesthetics). If you feel good about your appearance, that’s all that matters. And if he loved you, he wouldn’t mind if you wanted surgery for your own good. Who should judge? He is not. Only you are.

Reddit users were quick to come to his defense, criticizing the man for his “shallow” mentality, while others called his behavior a “red flag.”

Another user criticized Max and other men who claim to want a ‘natural woman’ with no idea what that means.

“It reminds me of all the guys who share photos of women with a full face of makeup that is ‘beach’ or ‘natural’ and then claim they only like women who don’t wear makeup.” one user commented.

After receiving more than 1,000 comments from users who were enraged by Max’s behavior, the woman posted an update on the situation.

She revealed that Max ended up doing a U-turn on the breakup, ultimately texting her and asking to “meet up,” before adding that information from Reddit users made her realize that “he didn’t is the partner.” [she’s] searching.’
