Woman ‘raped by migrant’ near Coney Island boardwalk as second man ‘held back her boyfriend’ reveals hellish ordeal
A woman who was allegedly raped at knifepoint beneath the Coney Island boardwalk said she feared for her life during the hellish ordeal.
The homeless victim, 46 years old and anonymous, was attacked on Sunday night by two migrants. One of them allegedly held her boyfriend while he watched the attack.
“It wasn’t rape, it was attempted murder,” she told the New York Post. “He wasn’t trying to rape me, he was trying to kill me. … I kept telling him that God was watching him.”
The charges come as 24-year-old Nicaraguan migrant Daniel Davon-Bonilla has been charged in connection with the brutal attack, while alleged accomplice Leovando Moreno, 37, is also accused of throwing a brick at her boyfriend.
Nicaraguan migrant David Davon-Bonilla, 24, is charged Sunday with raping a homeless woman on Coney Island. His alleged victim called the attack “attempted murder.”
Leovando Moreno, a 37-year-old Mexican man, is accused of attacking the victim’s friend while the attack was taking place
The alleged attack occurred late Sunday night near a popular part of Coney Island in New York City, when the victim’s friend, Ray Ramsammy, 34, said he stepped away to get a cup of coffee.
When he returned, Ramsammy said he saw his partner being brutally attacked and threatened with a knife, before being targeted himself when he tried to fend them off.
“I tried to pull the guy off her and he tried to stab me,” he told the Post. “I grabbed the pipe with one hand and the other was behind me, hitting me with a brick. Hit me in the back.”
Ramsammy said he ran into the street to beg witnesses to call the police, and his girlfriend was seriously injured.
“She was very hurt. I was a little hurt. I’m a man, I have feelings. But she was really hurt,” he said.
Ramsammy said he and the victim had known each other for only a few weeks, while they were living together in a homeless camp on Coney Island. He admitted the attack traumatized his girlfriend.
“She’s completely lost now. When it started getting dark last night, she got paranoid,” he said.
“She’s seeing Hispanic men today and she thinks it’s going to happen again. She’s really upset.”
The two suspects, seen here in their arrest photos, allegedly attacked the homeless woman at knifepoint, with their alleged victim saying she hopes they are held in custody for a “long time”

The unprovoked attack is believed to have taken place under a promenade outside a hotel housing asylum seekers (pictured), right on this sandy stretch next to the famous promenade
When DailyMail.com visited the scene of the horrific attack, the area below the promenade was littered with tents, drugs and bottles of booze
Police arrested Moreno and Davon-Bonilla the same night of the attack. The victim told the Post she hopes the suspects remain behind bars “for a long time.”
“I’m afraid he’s going to kill someone,” she said of Davon-Bonilla, who allegedly raped her while Moreno held Ramsammy down.
After his arrest, it was revealed that Danon-Bonilla would also be charged with rape in April 2023. He had been released less than two months before the Coney Island rape on Sunday.
Sources told the Post that in his first known arrest, he allegedly raped and sodomized a 34-year-old woman at a hotel that had been converted into a migrant shelter.
That happened four months after he reportedly entered the country illegally through Texas. However, it is unclear why he was allowed to remain in the US after his release.
While he is now charged with first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon,
Meanwhile, Moreno was charged with assault and weapons possession for fighting off Ramsammy.
The incident came on the same day that a Venezuelan migrant accused of leading the attack on New York City Police officers in Times Square earlier this year was arrested again on robbery charges. The incident also came weeks after an illegal immigrant was arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl in a New York park.
