Woman and her pet dog are killed in horror collision between a car and a bus in Warwick, Perth

A woman and her dog have died after a fiery crash involving a public bus and a car in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to reports that a white Hyundai i30 hatchback collided with a Transperth bus on Warwick Rd in Warwick at around 8am on Monday.

The car then caught fire after the crash, which happened about 20 yards west of Lloyd Drive.

The 50-year-old woman driving the car was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for her serious injuries.

She was taken by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, where she died a short time later.

The woman also had three dogs in the car.

One dog was killed in the crash, while the other two dogs were later found by council officers after running away from the scene.

The 48-year-old female driver of the bus and the passengers on board were not injured.

It is understood that the bus was mainly transporting school-age children traveling to school.

Officers from the Major Accident Investigation Department are investigating the incident.
