Mossman, Queensland hit and run: Woman’s body found on side of road
A 37-year-old woman has been found dead on a road in north Queensland in what is believed to be a hit-and-run crash.
A passing motorist saw the woman on Junction Road in Mossman, near Port Douglas in far north Queensland, at 6.27pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services performed CPR, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman has been identified as a resident of Mossman.
“Initial investigation indicates the woman was struck by a vehicle, which did not remain at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
Detectives are urging anyone who was in the area between 6:15 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. to contact Crime Stoppers.
“Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are also appealing for the driver involved in the incident or anyone with information to contact police,” Queensland Police said.
