Woman obsessed with Black and Decker vacuum from Big W cheaper than Dyson

Shoppers ‘obsessed’ with $159 budget Dyson rip-off: ‘I couldn’t believe how much dust it picked up’

  • Shoppers are obsessed with budget vacuums
  • The Black and Decker model costs $159

A young woman who couldn’t afford a Dyson vacuum cleaner has revealed she’s “obsessed” with a budget version she picked up at Big W.

And she’s not alone, with the $159 Black and Decker vacuum developing a loyal fan base.

Even Dyson owners admitted that they have the cheap vacuum cleaner as a backup and “actually prefer it” to the expensive machine that can cost up to five times as much.

The young South Australian woman publicly raved about the cheap vacuum cleaner after buying it for her stairs.

She explained that she uses a robot vacuum cleaner for the rest of the house, but needed “something easy” for the awkward stairs.

A young woman who couldn’t afford a Dyson vacuum cleaner has revealed she’s ‘obsessed’ with a ‘budget version’ she picked up at Big W – this photo was taken after cleaning her rug

“We couldn’t afford a Dyson so we got this and OMG does wonders with it,” she said.

The young woman, who lives with her partner, has a dog on the inside, making a good vacuum cleaner a necessity.

She decided to clean the whole house with the new vacuum cleaner and was shocked when she filled the barrel three times.

‘I really didn’t expect so much dust!! But amazing results,” she said.

She also shared a photo of the vacuum cleaner after going over the clean rug in her living room, revealing just how much dust was really lurking.

Another woman, who has had her vacuum cleaner for five years, was quick to praise it.

“I’ve had my black and decker for five years now and it’s the best $200 I’ve ever spent! My mom prefers it to her Dyson,” she said.

A second remained enthused: “I have this one too, it’s soooo much better than the Dyson I had, we have a dog in and he gets all the hair unlike the Dyson.”

One explained that it’s her goal – but it’s not perfect.

‘I agree I’ve had my purple Black and Decker stick vacuum for about a year and I use it more often than the Dyson. I wish the battery lasted longer, but I heard you can buy bigger batteries for it.

The young woman who initiated the call said her battery lasted an hour – on high.

The budget vacuum cleaner is sold at Big W and has many fans

Some people recommended the “purple” over the “orange” from the same company.

“It costs $20 more and doesn’t tangle as easily and has a furniture attachment,” said one fan.

But some said they were disappointed with the cheap machine.

“We had one for a quick clean for our stairs and rug. After about the 10 times it started not working so well, we cleaned the filter after every use,” said one mother.

The woman said she may need to “upgrade her robo-vac” because she didn’t realize it was leaving so much dust.
