Woman makes shocking discovery inside cabinet she bought from Facebook marketplace

Everyone loves a bargain, and one woman’s second-hand find got a designer touch.

TikTok user Amanda DeWitt was excited when she found her dream piece of furniture on the Facebook marketplace and excitedly bought it for a fraction of the price.

“I found the most stunning Louis XVI buffet on Facebook Marketplace so of course I bought it,” she shared in a post TikTok video.

‘It’s in my house. She is absolutely beautiful, perfect,” the Dallas, Texas, native said in the 90-second video, adding that she got it for “one-ninth” of the original price.

After assembling the marble top dresser – which retails online for between $400 and $600 – and when she brought it home, she proceeded to open all the doors and drawers to inspect everything.

“I unlock the cabinets like you do,” she explains. “Like checking all the draws, making sure everything is in order.”

“Please look what I found,” a stunned Dewitt continued. ‘Literally no words.’

She then revealed the incredible find in the furniture drawers, opening a door to reveal it full of orange Hermes boxes and a blue box from Tiffany & Co.

“Literally no words,” she said in disbelief as she pulled the iconic orange boxes out of the cupboard.

She opened one of the boxes to reveal a Hermes porcelain plate in perfect condition. The gold-adorned set included sturdy dessert plates with the Hermes logo in the center.

“All these signs are in perfect condition,” she said. “I think it’s twelve plates in total.”

“I mean, nice,” she declared as she pulled out the plates. ‘Literally what dreams are made of.’

DeWitt showed off the two designs: one, a dinner plate that retails for $250 per plate, and the other a dessert plate, which retails for $185 each.

“I have no idea if this china was left behind accidentally or on purpose,” she said.

Inside the Tiffany & Co box was a serving knife for a cake.

DeWitt assured viewers that she had contacted the woman she bought the buffet from — and the seller responded and reclaimed their forgotten designer china.

“It was fun while it lasted… but they did ask to come pick it all up after I messaged them about my discovery,” she explained.

In a follow-up clip, the Good Samaritan said she was glad she contacted the woman because it was her and her husband’s wedding tableware.

“I would hate for someone to lose their wedding china,” she said. ‘Especially a collection as beautiful as this one.’

Users praised DeWitt for doing the right thing – as nice as having a full set of designer china in the house would be.

“I promise… Doing the right thing always pays off. I’ve made some selfish decisions in the past, and karma came for me at a later date! Honesty is satisfying and euphoric,” one user wrote in the comments.

‘That is positive karma and you will be rewarded. Moreover, your conscience is clear. That’s worth more than money,” someone else said.

“Some of these comments concern me… you definitely did the right thing by saying something to them,” another agreed.

Others think she should have kept it.

“But who doesn’t check all the shelves before selling???” someone argued.

“This was so stupid of you,” another criticized. “If they’re rich enough to forget about that shit, they can get more. I would have waited a month tops to see if they contacted me and started selling it.”
