Woman makes shocking claim after ordering Raising Cane’s chicken strips

A woman who claims to regularly indulge in delicious chicken strips from fast food chain Raising Cane’s has made an alarming observation about the condition of her recent orders: They tasted more like nuggets.

Roz, a TikTokker from Los Angeles, took to the video app to show off the chicken piece she received from the fast food chain.

In the video, the creator holds the fried food item between her fingers in different ways to demonstrate how surprisingly small the piece is.

According to the Raising Cane’s websitea single chicken fillet costs $2.59 each.

A complete combo meal consisting of four chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Cane’s sauce, Texas toast, coleslaw and a regular soft drink/tea costs $14.69.

In the short clip, captioned “I swear Canes’ chicken tastes more like a nugget every time I go there,” viewers share their own experiences with the fast food chain.

“I was just talking about this the other day, they’re smaller than the toasts,” one viewer complained.

While another added: ‘They used to be over 2oz each, now they’re between 1.6 and 1.8oz’

“Please, mine was the size of my thumb… I haven’t looked back since,” one TikToker revealed.

Several employees also indicated that the size of the tenders was entirely determined by the shipment they received.

A viewer wrote: ‘I used to work there: it depends on which plant we get our shipment from. Some weeks are bad and some are good, but tender ranges between 1.4-2.3 ounces (I marinate/weigh the chicken)’

While another added: ‘wicker worker – depends on the shipment we get. some weeks we get pretty big tenders, other times they’re small :/’

But the TikToker and her followers believe shrinkflation is the reason why once-large tenders have now become tiny pieces.

According to InvestopediaShrinkflation is ‘the practice of reducing the size of a product while keeping the price the same.’ It is a less transparent way of increasing profit margins, as opposed to the more obvious route of keeping the product the same but increasing the price.
