- Timers are used to mark meat when it has finished cooking
A KFC customer has expressed outrage after biting into a hamburger and discovering that a plastic ‘meat-timer tag’ was accidentally left inside.
Hayley May, who lives in Far North Queensland, posted a video last week revealing her grim experience.
“You’re kidding,” she tells the camera as she sits in the front seat of a car holding the half-eaten burger in one hand.
“I just bit into my f***ing KFC but…” she dies before making a gagging noise.

‘What is this?’ she says, holding up a light blue plastic ‘meat timer’.
Timer tags are used in KFC kitchens to show staff when the meat is properly cooked.
Daily Mail Australia has approached KFC for comment.
Writing under Ms May’s TikTok post, the company claimed it wanted to “provide some help as soon as possible.”
“Hey Hayler, we are so disappointed to see that you had this experience,” the company wrote.

A Queensland mom has vowed never to eat at KFC again after her 10-year-old son found what looked like a ‘meat timer tag’ in his Zinger Burger (pictured)
It’s not the first time a KFC fan in far north Queensland has been disgusted by a forgotten timer tag in their burger.
In 2019, a mom whose 10-year-old son found one in his Zinger burger vowed never to eat at KFC again.
Kylie Millard from Cairns was visiting the fast food shop with her kids for lunch when the shocking discovery was made.
“It’s huge, I don’t know how they would have missed it when they were making the burger,” she said.
KFC has been contacted for comment.
