A woman lost control of her Tesla on Friday, hit a curb and flew 50 feet through the air before crashing into the kitchen of a California home.
Dramatic photos show the trail of destruction the 70-year-old woman left behind when her electric car flew over the front yard and pool before crashing into the wall of the house in the Bay Area city of San Mateo.
Local police and fire officials were dispatched to the scene of the intersection of Murphy and Ashwood Drive around 7:10 a.m.
Although the front wall of the house was swept away, no one was inside at the time and the female driver and her passenger also escaped remarkably unharmed.

Witnesses said they saw the Tesla Model
Police said they notified the homeowner and her daughter arrived on scene. She identified herself as Meredith Donato KTVU. Donato said she was “honestly just surprised no one got hurt.”
“If my mother had been home, she would definitely have been in the kitchen drinking her tea at seven in the morning,” she said.
‘Of course there is material damage, but in the end it’s just stuff.’
