Woman killed after her Tesla collides with a ute in horror crash on the Sunshine Coast
A woman driving a Tesla has died in a head-on collision with a car on a busy highway.
The 48-year-old was driving her Tesla Model 3 on the Sunshine Motorway, in Coolum Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, at 2.35pm on Monday when she collided with a Toyota Hilux traveling in the opposite direction.
The woman, who was the only person in the Tesla, died at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is clear that both drivers were trapped in their car after the accident.
An investigation into the crash has been launched and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
