It was then that White, a patron, saw the lost possum wandering in through one of the doors near the parking lot.

“She approached it and noted that it was very quiet, but she wanted to make sure she wasn’t putting it in danger or near a lot of people,” Jonathan Aviles, social media manager at Banita Creek Hall told the Chronicle.

“She grabbed it and went to find the owner of the bar and ask where a good place to move it would be.”

Aviles said the creature was probably lured in by the smell of the hot dog cart outside.

The possum was brought safely to the bar’s outdoor patio, which is grassy and away from people and cars, he said.

He added, “The whole thing took about 3 minutes because she took matters into her own hands.”

The venue posted the happening on their Facebook, which has since gone viral with over 10 million views and over 75,000 likes.

The caption reads, “Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they are a southern belle who clearly has no fear of anything, needless to say your next rounds are upon us.”

“Apparently she was the only man that night,” someone said.

Another added, “She’s probably used to it… no city girl can do this.”
