Earlier this year, an 81-year-old man was saved from drowning by his dog after his wheelchair slid off a grass embankment into a lake.

Harry Smith, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, was walking his nine-year-old beagle mix, Sarah, in his neighborhood last week when his electric wheelchair lost traction and slid off a bank, causing him to fall into the water.

Sensing something was wrong, the dog began to bark loudly, drawing the attention of passersby to come to Mr. Smith’s aid.
