Woman dies after horrific boat crash on the Hawkesbury River near Sydney
A woman has died after a boating accident in Sydney’s northwest.
Emergency services were called to a boat ramp on Pitt Town Ferry Road in the small town of Wilberforce just after 9pm on Sunday after reports that a boat had crashed into the riverbank.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a woman, believed to be in her 30s, but she died at the scene.
The woman has yet to be formally identified.
A 38-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory tests.
The boat was seized by police for investigation and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
