Woman charged with TORTURE of a baby in Australia to entice monetary donations and online followers

A woman has been accused of torturing a one-year-old girl, allegedly posting videos of the results in an attempt to gain donations and an online following.

Queensland police allege a 34-year-old Sunshine Coast woman gave the child several unauthorized prescription drugs.

The alleged abuse was discovered when the child was admitted to a hospital in Brisbane’s south and was reported to police

“While the child was subjected to immense suffering and pain, it is alleged the woman filmed and posted videos of the child,” Queensland Police said.

“It is alleged that the content produced exploited the child and was used to entice monetary donations and online followers.”

Detectives from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) arrested the woman at a home in Underwood on Thursday morning.

She was charged with five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparing to commit crimes involving dangerous things, and one count of torture, materializing child exploitation and fraud.

Detective Inspector Paul Dalton said offenses such as those alleged were abhorrent.

“Too often we are confronted with the worst crimes against children,” he said.

“We will do everything in our power to protect that child and hold every offender accountable.”

“There is no excuse for harming a child, especially a one-year-old baby who depends on others for care and survival.”

The woman is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
