Woman charged with murder after man is found dead in a Brown Plains house is identified as Skye Sampson – as neighbours recall horrifying details
A woman has been charged with murder after an elderly man was found dead in a home.
Emergency services were called to a house on Basie Court in Browns Plains, south Brisbane, at around midday on Monday after a 72-year-old man was found unconscious and not breathing.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene, leading to the arrest of 32-year-old local woman, Skye Sampson, who was charged with murder (felony domestic violence).
Police assume the two knew each other, but their relationship remains unknown.
She will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday as the investigation into the death continues.
Neighbors reported hearing yelling and screaming several times before the alleged incident, but did not know much about the couple.
One said she had never had contact with the man or Sampson.
“I just saw him riding around on his push bike, going to the shops, coming back, mowing his lawns,” she told the Courier mail.

Another said they “didn’t think it was that serious until detectives came knocking on the door.”
Investigators were searching the taped-off house and surrounding yards on Tuesday.
There’s more to come.
