The 57-year-old woman said she was walking her dog at 4 a.m. on Sunday, February 19, in Avignon, France, when a man in his 30s began following her.

Officers rushed to the scene and arrested the man, who is originally from Tunisia and is said to be living illegally in France.

The man, who faces immediate trial and is forced to leave France, reportedly told authorities that the woman was the one who attacked him, according to blue france.

The incident is similar to a recent Spanish case in which a woman cut off the penis of her would-be rapist.

The couple, both originally from Bangladesh, worked together in a bar in Sant Andreu de la Barca, near Barcelona.

The man allegedly attempted to rape the woman, who then cut off his penis in retaliation.

The unidentified woman contacted the police to admit her assault and the man was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation so doctors could try to reattach his penis.

Both were detained by the Spanish police. The man was charged with attempted rape while the woman was charged with assault and amputation.
