Heated discussion after wife’s husband loses out to her for checking his pockets before doing laundry: ‘You have no respect for my privacy’
- A man yelled at his wife for going through his pockets
- He claimed she “breached his privacy” and bought a locked closet
A woman was beaten for “violating” her husband’s privacy by checking his pockets before putting his clothes in the wash.
The 33-year-old woman was just doing laundry when her husband started yelling at her.
She was caught in the act with her hands in his pockets while checking that he had left nothing important in it.
The man was furious at his wife’s actions and bought himself a separate closet with a lock and key to keep her away from his clothes.

‘I grabbed [my husband’s] work pants and put my hand in the pockets to empty them before putting it in the washing machine like I always do,” the woman wrote in a Reddit post.
“My husband happened to pass by and he ran in screaming at me to take his pants off,” she revealed.
“I found a folded piece of paper, but he snatched it and started yelling at me that I don’t respect his privacy and that I shouldn’t get my hands on his stuff.”
The woman admitted she was “genuinely stunned” and revealed that she always went through clothes before putting them in the washing machine.
Her husband then “lashed out” at her, claiming she should have asked permission before going through his clothes, in case she messed up an “important document” like the piece of paper she took from his pants.
“I said important documents shouldn’t be in his pockets and asked to see the paper, but he said he wouldn’t let me see it,” she said.
The woman added: “He said I can’t ask him asshole after I disrespected his privacy. I almost had to laugh because what kind of privacy does he have in pockets? It wasn’t like a stranger was digging in it.’
The man has since refused to speak to his wife and has purchased a new locked cabinet to “teach her a lesson” about “privacy” and “sniffing.”

Many sided with the wife, claiming that her husband was behaving “insanely.”
“H is obviously hiding something,” one woman said. “No sane person who has nothing to hide locks his clothes.”
“It’s completely normal to get into the pockets during the wash, to get out forgotten money or receipts.”
“I bet he’d yell at her for not checking her pockets when a watch or a pair of headphones or a pen went through the wash.”
“He cheats on you 100%.”
But others were suspicious of the woman’s behavior.
“You’re not telling us the whole story here,” one man wrote. “He wouldn’t react like that just because you were doing laundry.
‘Why did you look in his pockets? This is very shady.’
