Woman and a man are charged after police raid at Liverpool ‘Ice Block’ units in Sydney’s southwest

A woman arrested during a massive police raid on a notorious council housing block finds herself at the center of a bitter love triangle feud over a married man.

Dozens of heavily armed NSW police officers descended on the council housing flats, known locally as the ‘Ice Block’, on Charles Street in Liverpool, southwest Sydney, just after 2am on Monday.

Neighbors had reported shots fired on the property.

Kimberley Hunter, 29, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. after she was found in an allegedly stolen Pantech truck parked at the front of the apartment complex. She was also wanted for three outstanding arrests.

Kane Gordon, 49, was also charged with two counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm. Both were denied bail by police and are expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

It was just the latest development in Hunter’s tumultuous life, with a war of words raging on Facebook over the past week after her now ex-boyfriend Kurt Alderton reunited with his once-estranged wife of 26 years, Robyn.

Just six days ago, Hunter sparked a heated Facebook exchange when she posted a meme that bluntly said, “I don’t break happy houses, but when that door creaks.”

Hunter tagged Robyn Alderton in the provocative post, sparking a deluge of fiery online discussions between the pair and their friends.

The post sparked a blizzard of accusations, most of which cannot be published for legal reasons.

They include attacks on various party appearances and claims and counter-claims on topics such as body hygiene.

It was a far cry from social media posts about her happy relationship with Kurt Alderton from earlier this year – with Hunter sharing a series of photos next to him as he enjoys car rides, days out at the beach and lying next to each other in bed.

But in March, Ms Alderton had announced that she and her husband were back together after a brief separation: “Marriage has its highs and lows, so Kurt and I are back together to give it one more try,” she wrote.

“It’s hard to walk away from 26 years together and from someone (you) you couldn’t see yourself without.

“But grass isn’t always greener on the other side and sometimes we have to learn that the hard way!”

Hunter has been quiet online since she was charged in the early hours of Tuesday morning for the council housing incident.

Residents described noisy parties being held in the housing block, which is located near communal areas littered with discarded trolleys and dumped rubbish.

The complex has a bloody past: at the end of last year, a man in his twenties was shot in the driveway of the complex.

Jin Shin, who lives next to the unit where police raided on Monday, said a man and a woman entered the apartment several months ago.

Since then, Mr. Shin said he had trouble falling asleep because of the incessant music blaring from the venue.

“There were a lot of parties, 20 people coming and going all the time,” said Mr. Shin.

“The police always knocked on the door there.”

A woman who lives on a nearby block said her neighbor heard a loud bang in the early hours of the morning.

She said the units used to be a nice place to live until they were converted to public housing a few years ago.

Another resident, who declined to be named, said two of the apartment blocks in the housing complex were notorious for using ice and heroin.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that any of the residents mentioned in this article are using or selling drugs.

Mr. Shin said there had been a shooting in the driveway just six months ago.

“The man was shot in the legs, he ran bleeding into our building and collapsed on the floor,” he said.

On that occasion, at about 6:20 a.m. on 12 October, a man in his twenties was shot and taken to Liverpool hospital.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that the October 2022 shooting is related to the current police operation.

The five detainees were taken to Liverpool Police Station, where police vehicles left the street at around 5:40 am.

NSW Police said a crime scene warrant would be carried out with detectives to continue the investigation.

Detectives were searching a white truck parked in the driveway Monday morning.

The vehicle was later marked with a ‘forensic evidence’ sticker before being towed from the crime scene.
