The disturbing situation is said to have started after the young girl heard Burnett and another woman behind her arguing about cutting the line.

The situation then escalated after the unidentified 12-year-old tried to keep the peace and offered her spot to Burnett, the policy said.

However, the youth did not think Burnett heard her and says Burnett attacked her when she approached her.

After the arrests, officers noticed redness on the 12-year-old’s neck and small cuts on her face.
